Railway Sleeper Planters Chelmsford
This was a great fun project for ATS landscapes. The customer asked for some bespoke railway sleeper planters to add to their amazing garden, and we loved bringing the idea to life. A big thanks to @jgardandsons for supplying the sleepers!
Railway sleepers (which were traditionally used to support train tracks), have become popular as attractive durable garden features. The solid timber construction makes them ideal for creating raised planters that can withstand the weather and last for many years.
They are versatilie and can be used to create neat borders, raised beds for vegetables, or decorative planters for flowers and shrubs. They can also also improve drainage and soil quality, making them especially beneficial for growing herbs and vegetables.
Aesthetically, railway sleepers bring a natural, rustic charm to gardens. They work well with both traditional and modern designs, adding natural texture and structure to outdoor areas. Sleepers can be stacked, cut, or arranged in various shapes, allowing for creating bespoke layouts.
Railway sleepers are also an environmentally friendly choice when reclaimed wood is selected, giving new life to existing materials.
