Chelmsford Custom Built Timber Pergola
We recently completed a beautiful garden transformation featuring a custom-built timber pergola that adds both structure and elegance to the outdoor space. The pergola was carefully constructed using high-quality timber and designed to complement the existing features of the garden. We incorporated railway sleepers with rounded edging to soften the overall appearance and create a seamless, natural look. These sleepers were installed to match the existing ones already in the garden, ensuring consistency.
To further enhance the area, we matched the paving with Silver Limestone from Marshalls Gardens and Driveways, creating a stylish (and durable surface). A circular patio was carefully cut below the pergola, forming an inviting central feature. This was then finished with a darker block-paved border that frames the circle perfectly and adds a striking contrast. We completed the look with Cotswold chippings, which tie the whole space together and provide a soft, rustic finish.
All materials were supplied by J Gard & Sons Ltd and Marshalls Gardens and Driveways, with support from @lawsons_uk. The result is a beautiful, cohesive outdoor space that combines practicality with aesthetic appeal.
